Remembering Eleanor Ann Patton: A Life of Adventure and Love

Eleanor Ann Patton, a beloved figure known for her zest for life, passed away at the age of 89, just six months shy of her 90th birthday. Originally from Glouster, Massachusetts, she grew up in a large family with nine siblings before relocating to Columbus, Georgia. In the late 1950s, she made her way to California, eventually settling in Redondo Beach, where she built a fulfilling life.

In California, Eleanor began her professional journey at Northrop Aircraft as an Executive Assistant. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Donald Patton, at a company party in Malibu. The couple married in 1962 and welcomed their only son, Chris Patton, a year later, after Eleanor resigned from her job to focus on her family.

Eleanor was not only devoted to her family but also passionate about her interests. She enjoyed activities such as tennis, skiing, skating, golf, and singing, and was an avid traveler. Her adventures included a memorable road trip to Alaska in a Volkswagen van, which reflected her adventurous spirit. Throughout her life, Eleanor made countless friends and lived with a sense of joy and purpose.

Her family has shared that Eleanor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Catherine Patton, along with her two grandchildren, Brandy and Harley. She is also mourned by her sister, Julie, and brothers Tom and Jerry, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor’s burial services will take place at Green Hills in Palos Verdes, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Donald, who passed away in 2019.

In her later years, Eleanor became a breast cancer survivor, which inspired her family to encourage donations in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to end breast cancer forever, a cause that Eleanor deeply supported.

Eleanor Ann Patton’s legacy will be remembered by her family and friends, who cherish the memories of her vibrant life and the love she shared with those around her. As her family reflects on her remarkable journey, they express their gratitude for the time spent with her and look forward to the day they will reunite.
