She graduated from Redondo Union High School in the class of 1969 and married Richard H. “Dick” McCurdy in 1978. Cathy and Dick McCurdy were well-known figures in the local glass business at Shea Company, but their contributions extended far beyond their work. Both were actively involved in various community organizations, most notably the Kiwanis Club of Hermosa Beach, where they held several leadership positions, including the presidency.
Cathy’s impact was particularly felt in the educational sector. She served on the Hermosa Beach School Board and dedicated many years to working at the Hermosa Valley School.
