Willmar Man Arrested After Alleged Gun Threat During Road Rage

A 71-year-old man from Willmar is in custody following a reported road rage incident that involved threats with a firearm. The event took place on the evening of March 15, 2024, when police received a call regarding a man allegedly threatening multiple individuals while under the influence of alcohol.

According to a news release from the Willmar Police Department, officers were alerted to the situation around 18:47 and quickly located the vehicle involved. They executed a “high-risk” traffic stop, a procedure utilized when there is concern that a suspect may be armed or dangerous. The arrest occurred in the 1600 block of Lower Trentwood Circle without incident.
