Young Marines Launch Recruitment Drive for Youth Leadership Program

The Young Marines, a national youth organization dedicated to fostering leadership and citizenship among youth, is actively seeking new members. Children aged between 8 and 12th grade are encouraged to join the program, which emphasizes community service, self-discipline, and maintaining a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The local units of the Young Marines are led by dedicated adult volunteers who guide participants through various activities. These activities are designed to build skills that are beneficial both personally and within the community. The organization aims to instill values that promote responsible citizenship and personal growth among young participants.

Meetings for the Young Marines take place at AMVETS Post 18, located on Green Street in Stephens City. The sessions are scheduled for the first and third Sunday of each month, starting at 1 p.m.. This consistent meeting schedule provides an opportunity for members to engage with each other and participate in the structured programming offered by the organization.

Prospective members or those seeking additional information can contact Desire Dowdney at 540-622-7224 or via email at [email protected]. The Young Marines program not only aims to build leadership skills but also encourages youth to work collaboratively and contribute positively to their communities.

By joining the Young Marines, young individuals can embark on a journey that supports their development while also connecting them with peers who share similar values and aspirations.
