The Salvation Army is actively seeking volunteers for its 2025 Red Kettle Campaign, which officially began on November 7, 2025 and will run until December 23, 2025. This annual initiative aims to raise funds that support various community programs in St. Joseph, Missouri, by engaging local residents in a charitable effort.
Captain Patricia Williams emphasized the importance of the holiday season for fundraising, stating, “This is the season where we do our biggest fundraiser to help out the community in St. Joseph.” The organization is looking for bell ringers to stand at various locations to collect donations, a role that is crucial for the campaign’s success.
Last year, the campaign exceeded expectations by raising over $100,000, and the Salvation Army hopes to surpass that amount this year. So far, the campaign has collected around $3,500, highlighting the need for more volunteers to assist in reaching the fundraising goal.
Social Services Director Emily Bravo encouraged community members to participate, saying, “Go to our website, and you can get the link to register to ring. And, you can sign yourself up as a volunteer to ring bells at those locations.” Volunteers will be stationed at popular local venues such as Hy-Vee, Hobby Lobby, Price Chopper, and Sam’s Club.
The funds raised during the Red Kettle Campaign will be allocated to essential services provided by the Salvation Army in St. Joseph. These services include emergency shelter, food pantry operations, youth and senior programs, as well as disaster response initiatives, all of which significantly impact the local community.
By joining the effort, volunteers can help ensure that the Salvation Army continues its vital work in supporting those in need during the holiday season and beyond. As the campaign unfolds, the organization remains hopeful that the community will rally together to make a meaningful difference.
