Marcus Smith, a graduate of the Oneida High School Class of 2022, is set to perform in a free Messiah Sing-Along on December 21, 2023. This event, taking place at Zion Episcopal Church located at 140 W. Liberty St., Rome, presents an excellent opportunity for music lovers to enjoy the timeless compositions of George Frideric Handel while supporting a promising young talent from the Oneida Central School District.
The concert will feature selections from Handel’s renowned work, including the beloved Hallelujah chorus. Smith will share the stage with esteemed musicians such as conductor G. Roberts Kolb and accompanist Sar-Shalom Strong. The performance will also include soprano Pilar Padron Parnell, alto Stacy Spindlar, tenor Marcus Smith, and bass David Kolb.
Currently, Marcus Smith is pursuing his studies at the Crane School of Music. His talent has been recognized, as he has been selected as one of only three soloists for an upcoming community performance. This recognition highlights his dedication and skill as a musician.
