The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is inviting young adults to apply for the Deputy Explorer Program, a valuable opportunity aimed at those aged 14 to 20. Participants must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0. This program not only enhances educational growth but also fosters leadership, responsibility, confidence, and compassion among its members as they engage in volunteer work within their communities.
According to a news release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, the program provides hands-on experience in law enforcement careers. Participants will benefit from training and insights into the various aspects of police work, preparing them for potential future careers in the field.
Program Details and Application Process
The Explorer Academy will commence on February 7, 2024, and run for 18 consecutive weeks, concluding on June 6, 2024. Sessions will take place every Saturday at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. The application deadline is set for January 22, 2024.
