Adopt-a-Family Program Urgently Seeks Support Before Christmas

With just three days remaining until Christmas, the Adopt-a-Family program in St. Joseph, Missouri, is actively seeking more adopters and donations to support local families in need. Currently, there are 85 families waiting for adoption, and an additional 28 individuals are on the waitlist for the program’s gift room.

Leaders from the AFL-CIO have expressed concern over the dwindling supplies in the gift room, indicating a pressing need for both physical items and monetary contributions. According to reports from KQTV, the program has faced challenges in meeting the demand as the holiday approaches.

Families can still be adopted up until Christmas Eve, providing a last-minute opportunity for community members to make a meaningful impact this holiday season. Those interested in participating can find an adoption form available on the AFL-CIO Community Services website.

In addition to family adoptions, the program encourages donations to bolster the gift room. Contributions, whether in the form of new items or monetary support, can be delivered directly to the AFL-CIO Community Services office.

As the clock ticks down to Christmas, the Adopt-a-Family program remains determined to fulfill its mission of bringing joy to those in need. Community support is crucial, and every contribution can help brighten the holiday for families facing challenges during this season.
