Tom Cruise made a surprise visit to the set of CBS’s popular series, NCIS: Origins, on October 15, 2023. The 63-year-old actor’s presence delighted the cast and crew, providing a boost of excitement as the show embarks on its second season. Executive producer David J. North shared the news on social media, highlighting Cruise’s support for the series and the wider NCIS franchise.

In a post featuring a photo of himself with Cruise, North expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “As we kick off a new season of Origins, it was awesome to have @tomcruise stop by yesterday to hang out and show so much support to our show and the entire @ncisverse.” He noted that the bar set design on the show, named Daly’s, was inspired by the iconic bar from Cruise’s film Top Gun. North remarked, “We were stoked he approved lol. Thanks for all the advice and the love, Tom.”

Cruise’s visit was not only a morale booster but also an opportunity for valuable interaction. During an interview with TVInsider, North recounted the excitement that Cruise’s visit generated among the crew. “He was just incredibly supportive of the show and the franchise,” he noted. The production team even took Cruise to see the bar set, which he expressed interest in visiting.

In addition to touring the set, Cruise offered practical advice to actor Caleb Foote, who portrays Randy. Foote asked the seasoned actor about performing stunts, sharing his struggles with stubbing his fingers during action sequences. Cruise’s response was characteristically light-hearted: “I don’t worry about breaking a nail,” he said, reflecting his fearless approach to action.

CBS celebrated the actor’s visit with a social media post, stating, “A VIP on set! ✨👏 While on the @paramountco lot, Tom Cruise stopped by the set of NCIS: Origins to say hi!”

The second season of NCIS: Origins has already captured audiences with a dramatic start, revealing the fate of character Lala, played by Mariel Molino, after a cliffhanger car crash that concluded the first season. The series continues to build momentum as fans anticipate new developments and guest appearances, further solidifying its place in the popular NCIS franchise.

With Tom Cruise’s surprise visit, the cast and crew of NCIS: Origins not only received encouragement but also a reminder of the interconnected nature of Hollywood, where support and inspiration often flow between established icons and rising stars. This visit highlights the collaborative spirit that fuels the television industry, especially in franchises with a dedicated fan base.
