Join the St. Urho’s Dinner Dance at Saima Park on March 14

A vibrant celebration of Finnish-American culture is set for March 14, 2024. The St. Urho’s Dinner Dance will take place at the Finnish Center located in Saima Park, Fitchburg, from 16:00 to 20:00. This event commemorates the legendary character St. Urho, who is said to have driven grasshoppers out of Finland, saving the grape harvest.

Guests can look forward to a hearty dinner featuring a variety of dishes. The menu includes appetizers, Swedish meatballs served with mashed potatoes, butternut squash, pickled beets, cranberry sauce, and bread and butter, followed by dessert and coffee or tea. As a special note, the event is bring-your-own-beverage (BYOB), allowing attendees to enjoy their favorite drinks throughout the evening.

Music will be provided by the Central Mass Accordion Club, ensuring a lively atmosphere. Attendees can also participate in dancing led by Leila Luopa, the director of the Revontulet Folk Dancers. In addition to the music and dancing, guests are encouraged to engage in a fun hat-decorating activity and a prize-winning game.

Tickets for the St. Urho’s Dinner Dance are priced at $25. Reservations are required by March 8, 2024, and can be made by emailing [email protected] or by calling 978-407-9690.
