Oneida County Health Department Moves Offices to Enhance Services

The Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) has officially relocated its offices from the Adirondack Bank Building at 185 Genesee St. in Utica to the Oneida County Office Building at 800 Park Ave. in Utica. This move aims to centralize operations, improve service coordination, and enhance accessibility for residents and partners.

Anthony J. Picente Jr., the Oneida County Executive, emphasized the benefits of the new location. “Centralizing these Health Department offices at the County Office Building will allow us to better coordinate services, strengthen internal operations, and make it easier for residents and partners to access the resources they need,” he stated. The relocation is also expected to save taxpayer dollars by consolidating office space and reducing operational expenses.

The OCHD’s administrative functions, along with Special Children Services, Health Promotion, and Environmental Health, will now operate from the new address. Importantly, phone numbers for these offices will remain unchanged, ensuring continuity of communication for residents.

While there will be no alterations to service delivery for Administration, Special Children Services, or Health Promotion, the Environmental Health Department will experience some changes in its in-person services. Operators of permitted facilities, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, pools, campgrounds, and mobile home parks, are now required to mail or deliver their permit applications and payments to the Oneida County Office Building.

Additionally, deliveries related to rabies and animal specimens should also be directed to the new location. It is essential for individuals to arrange these deliveries in advance by calling (315) 798-5064. Any inquiries regarding testing discussions should also be directed to this number.

The OCHD Clinic services will continue uninterrupted, with clinic hours remaining at 406 Elizabeth St. in Utica, open Monday through Friday. Specific dates and times for clinic hours in Rome are available, providing residents with multiple options for accessing health services.

For further updates regarding clinic schedules or any questions related to the recent changes, individuals can contact the OCHD at (315) 798-5064 or via email at [email protected].
