Dutch Bros Celebrates 1,111 Locations with First Los Angeles Shop

Dutch Bros has officially opened its first location in the city of Los Angeles, marking a significant milestone as the coffee chain reaches its 1,111th shop. The new establishment, situated at 3726 S Figueroa St. near the University of Southern California (USC), occupies a 1,300-square-foot space designed for walk-up service.

The project was facilitated by JLL representatives, Shauna Mattis and Liam Bredberg, who worked on behalf of the landlord, DWS. Meanwhile, Xan Saks and Alex Kogan from Beta Agency represented Dutch Bros in the deal.

In a statement, regional operator Brady Benner expressed enthusiasm about the opening: “I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to bring Dutch Bros Coffee to Los Angeles. Bringing this location to the Exposition Park and the greater Los Angeles community means we will have a space to bring love and light to each person we meet every day. We can’t wait to serve you, L.A. – see you soon!”

This new location signifies Dutch Bros’ expansion into Los Angeles, a market it had not previously penetrated. The chain, which was founded in 1992 by Dane and Travis Boersma, is known for its drive-through coffee service and has its headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. The company had its origins in Grants Pass, Oregon, where it operated until 2025.

Dutch Bros has been actively expanding its footprint across the United States. In October 2018, the company secured a minority investment from private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners. This funding supported its ambitious plans to increase its number of stores to 800 over a five-year period.

The company took a significant step forward in August 2021 when it filed for an initial public offering (IPO), aiming to raise $100 million to manage its long-term debt, which stood at $192 million. The IPO was successfully launched on September 15, 2021, raising $484 million through the sale of approximately 21 million shares at a price of $23 each.

As Dutch Bros continues to grow, its new Los Angeles location not only represents a milestone for the brand but also enhances its commitment to serving communities across the nation.
