CherryRoad Media and Ogden Newspapers have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing circulation and distribution through CherryRoad’s platform, LocalRoad. This collaboration will enable Ogden Newspapers to transition its subscription and distribution operations for over 50 daily newspapers and associated weeklies to the innovative LocalRoad system.
The announcement, made on November 19, 2025, highlights the growing importance of modern solutions in the publishing industry. “We are thrilled to work with an industry leader like Ogden Newspapers,” stated Jeremy Gulban, CEO of CherryRoad Media. “Our companies share a commitment to the sustainability of community journalism, and we appreciate the opportunity to support Ogden’s efforts with systems we originally built for our own publishing operations.”
Enhancing Local Journalism with LocalRoad
LocalRoad, developed by CherryRoad’s Media Division in conjunction with its Technologies Division, is a cloud-based, full-service circulation and distribution platform tailored for newspaper publishers. Designed to be user-friendly for local teams while remaining scalable for larger enterprises, LocalRoad aims to address the pressing needs of modern publishers.
“Our industry is starved for modern solutions that meet today’s challenges,” Gulban added. The platform promises to be both nimble and straightforward, catering to the varying requirements of publishers regardless of their size.
Ogden Newspapers worked closely with CherryRoad leadership to evaluate operational needs and set development priorities leading up to the full integration and launch of LocalRoad. “CherryRoad brought not just the right system, but the right approach,” said Cameron Nutting Williams of Ogden Newspapers. “They listened first, aligned with our operational realities, and committed to an integration plan that meets our deadlines and our standards.”
Supporting Sustainable Journalism
CherryRoad Media initially developed LocalRoad to fulfill its internal requirements and now utilizes the platform across nearly 100 owned or operated community newspapers. As a result, LocalRoad serves as both a turnkey option for smaller publishers and a configurable, enterprise-grade solution for larger groups.
Beyond the LocalRoad platform, CherryRoad Media provides a range of modern tools and shared services designed to bolster local journalism. This includes support in advertising, promotions, printing solutions, and operational services such as accounting, human resources, and IT.
The motto of CherryRoad Media encapsulates their mission: “You report. We support.” For more information on the LocalRoad platform or other services offered by CherryRoad, interested parties can reach out to Lee Bachlet, Senior Vice President of Growth & Innovation, via email at [email protected].
CherryRoad Media is dedicated to strengthening local journalism through innovative, digital-first operations and sustainable business models, publishing 97 community newspapers across the country. Meanwhile, Ogden Newspapers has a long-standing legacy, having been founded in 1890 with the launch of the Wheeling News. Today, it operates more than 50 daily newspapers and various weeklies, extending its reach from New York to Hawaii.
This partnership marks a significant step in the evolution of newspaper distribution, promising enhanced services for subscribers and a sustainable path forward for community journalism.
