BREAKING: Netflix has officially announced a significant deal that will bring the hit podcast Pardon My Take exclusively to its platform starting in January 2026. This move marks a major shift for the popular Barstool Sports show, previously available on YouTube and various audio platforms.
In a surprise update during the latest episode of Pardon My Take, co-host Dan “Big Cat” Katz expressed his excitement, stating, “We have come to a deal with Netflix. It’s a big deal for the podcast. It’s surreal.” Katz emphasized that this partnership will not only elevate the show but also provide financial benefits for the entire team behind the scenes.
The podcast, which boasts 659,000 subscribers on YouTube and garners hundreds of thousands of views per episode, will still be accessible on platforms like Spotify and Apple. However, its YouTube presence will be discontinued, with audio content being exclusively hosted on Netflix moving forward.
Katz continued, “If this means that everyone can have more pie, let’s make some more pie,” highlighting the positive impact this deal will have on the entire production team. Co-host Eric “PFT” Sollenberger added, “Netflix sounds like they’re going to be a great partner.”
This development is part of Netflix’s broader strategy to expand its video podcast offerings. Alongside Pardon My Take, other Barstool programs such as The Ryen Russillo Podcast and Spittin Chiclets will also migrate to the streaming giant. Ryen Russillo, a key figure in sports media, joined Barstool in 2025 after a successful stint with The Ringer.
Adding to the significance of this acquisition, Netflix recently struck a deal with Spotify that will introduce several popular Ringer shows to its platform, including The Bill Simmons Podcast.
As Netflix accelerates its entry into the podcasting arena, viewers can expect a surge in exclusive content. Fans of Pardon My Take and other Barstool shows should stay tuned for more updates as the January launch date approaches.
This partnership not only transforms the landscape of sports podcasts but also highlights the growing trend of streaming services integrating audio content into their offerings. With the announcement of this deal, Netflix is poised to become a major player in the podcasting space as it gears up for a big year in 2026.
