Jamestown Launches Renovation for Chamber and Tourism Offices

Renovation work has commenced at the building housing the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce, Jamestown Tourism, and the Jamestown Motor Vehicle Office. The project is set to begin this month and will span several months, aiming to enhance the functionality of the shared space.

During the renovation, staff from the chamber and Jamestown Tourism will temporarily relocate to the lower level of the building for approximately four months. The DMV will continue its operations on the upper level, ensuring that public services remain uninterrupted. All three organizations will operate as normal, although visitors may experience some construction activity and occasional delays.

Enhancements and Community Benefits

The remodel aims to create a larger and more functional main-level space for the DMV. The existing DMV area will be transformed into an improved Visitor and Information Center for Jamestown Tourism, along with a more welcoming shared lobby for the chamber. Additional features of the project include new office space for staff and an upgrade to an ADA-compliant bathroom.

Emily Bivens, executive director of both the chamber and Jamestown Tourism, expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its significance for the community. “This renovation is an investment in the people we serve,” she stated. “It will allow us to welcome visitors more effectively, support our members with a better workspace, and give the DMV the room it needs to continue providing efficient service. We are excited for what this means for Jamestown.”

Ongoing Updates and Community Engagement

The organizations involved have committed to providing regular updates as the renovation progresses. The initiative not only aims to enhance services but also reflects a dedication to improving the overall experience for residents and visitors in Jamestown.
